The Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) was formed and chartered in 1992 as a non-profit organization devoted to promoting and advancing the knowledge and application of maintenance and reliability. SMRP determined that it could meet an important obligation to maintenance and reliability professionals by recognizing those individuals who have attained a high degree of proficiency in the field.
